Avoid required Name/Key insertion

Post by skipro »

Is there a method that can avoid required Name/Key insertion on installation with paid version? Using Makedisk to create flash drive, the info is auto filled, but not on installation of Bootit.

If you enter it correctly using makedisk, it won't ask with BootIt Is booted (unless it can't read in the files).

As stated previously, it auto fills in makedisk [correctly] I do not need to enter it, but then it requires it on installation of BootIt onto the computer. It does not ask it after installation. How do I fix this?

the one in makedisk must be wrong .. maybe it's the old key or maybe something slightly off. retype or paste it back in.

I do not think I am explaining this well. When I create the BIU installation app on my flash drive, I execute Makedisk and in the process of creating the installation app it auto fills name/key properly and BIU installation app is created properly on flash drive. But when I use this flash drive to install the BIU program on my computer, it asks for this info, it does not auto fill or proceed without this info. Makedisk seems to be fine, but the installation app created on my flash drive is not transferring this info to the installation process of BIU when installing the program to my computer.

Are you saying it asks when booting the boot media, or only after you install it (or upgrade over an old version) and boot that installed copy?

when booting the boot media
If makedisk creates what you refer to as the "boot media". The installation process of BIU "onto my computer" asks for the info. After installation and further booting, booting into BIU menu proceeds normally, does not ask for info.

So the name/key in makedisk is not correct - it is not checked there - type it all in again, get rid of any spaces, etc..

If you want to confirm, just look in the .ini file.

Do I include hyphens or just numbers without spaces?

dashes need to be included.

basically everything between [name] and [key] is the name and they both must be entered exactly as shown (key includes the dashes).
