Windows 2000/XP/2003 Fails to Start after Manipulating Partitions in BootIt BM
This article applies if you have performed a copy, slide, or move operation on your Windows 2000/XP/2003 partition, and now your Windows installation fails to start. Windows may have one or both of the following symptoms:
- Upon trying to log in, you see the "Loading your personal settings" dialog, but then get kicked back to the "Welcome to Windows" dialog without ever getting to the Windows Desktop.
- You see an error message that says "Your system has no paging file, or the paging file is too small."

Here are some possible solutions, in addition to those in the aforementioned Microsoft support document:
- Undo the changes you made to your Windows partition (e.g. move it back).
- Use the Clear Sig function in BootIt BM. Please refer to the article Windows 2000/XP/2003 is Assigning the Wrong Drive Letter to a Partition for more information.
