Windows 2000/XP/2003 Fails to Start after Manipulating Partitions in BootIt BM

This article applies if you have performed a copy, slide, or move operation on your Windows 2000/XP/2003 partition, and now your Windows installation fails to start. Windows may have one or both of the following symptoms:

  • Upon trying to log in, you see the "Loading your personal settings" dialog, but then get kicked back to the "Welcome to Windows" dialog without ever getting to the Windows Desktop.

  • You see an error message that says "Your system has no paging file, or the paging file is too small."
